Microsoft has announced Silverlight for Windows Mobile 6 smartphones. Silverlight is a browser plug-in that acts similar to Adobe's Flash Lite in that it provides a more desktop-like mobile browsing experience. The 1.0 version of Silverlight, which will be available in the second quarter of this year, will enable animation, media playback, and vector graphics while browsing the web.
