Samsung has crafted a new 8 megapixel CMOS chip for cell phones. The chip, which measures 28mm x 15.3mm x 8.5mm, can be set up to ISO 1600 for low-light shooting. It also has anti-shake, face tracking, and a macro mode that can focus as close as 1cm from the subject. Samsung expects to begin using the chip in its high-end phones by the second half of this year.
