Sprint, Clearwire Call on Cable Companies
Mar 26, 2008, 8:26 AM by Eric M. Zeman
Sprint and Clearwire are in discussions with Comcast and Time Warner Cable about a nationwide wireless WiMax network. The plan would involve funding from the two cable companies, but the network would be run by Sprint and Clearwire. Sprint and Clearwire had agrees to build out a national WiMax network last summer, but canceled the agreement later in 2007. The two companies have since resumed talks about WiMax, but have yet to announce any formal, legally binding partnership. Sprint and Clearwire are seeking $3 billion in funding from other partners.
