Voice-to-Text Services Proliferate

Several companies introduced new voice-to-text services this week. Nuance began offering its Voicemail to Text voicemail transcription service. It translates voicemails into SMS or email messages and sends them to mobile phones so voicemails can be read. VoiceCloud offers a similar transcription service, but says that its system transcribes in real-time and will deliver messages to the end user faster than other services. YouMail will also transcribe voicemails into SMS or email messages, but offers other services such as different greetings for different callers.
