Apple Buys Microprocessor Company

Apple has purchased PA Semi for a sum of $278 million in cash. PA Semi designs low-power microprocessors that could end up in products such as the iPhone. Apple would not comment on the reason for its purchase, but Intel has been attempting to convince Apple to use its Atom microprocessors in its mobile devices. This purchase will allow Apple to keep chip design for future generations of the iPhone in-house.

Samsung Wallet Will Let You Tap Phones to Pay a Friend

Later this month, an update to Samsung Wallet will enable direct peer-to-peer (P2P) cash payments between Samsung phones. The feature requires that both phones have a Visa or Mastercard debit card stored in their Wallet, and moves money directly from one bank account to another, via those debit cards.

influenced by intel?

Can this be a sign for up and coming PDA devices from Apple? When I mean PDA devices, I am referring to more business oriented devices than consumer/entertainment oriented devices such as the iPhone.

It's possible, but I doubt it. Apple hasn't really seemed interested in courting the business market in a long time. It seems they're enjoying their position in the consumer electronics and home computer/home office niche.
