Contextually Aware Widgets on the Way from Nokia

Nokia has improved its Web Run Time product in a way that will allow for the development of more powerful widgets for the S60 operating platform. The changes make it so widgets can access information from the internet and pair it with user data stored on the phone. For example, widgets can be built that will use the phone's embedded GPS unit to determine position and then automatically pull down a local weather report for the users current location. Widgets will also be able to interact with S60 applications such as the calendar, contacts, messaging and media players. This will make for more personalized widgets.
