Nokia Adds to Ovi's Power

Nokia has agreed to buy social networking start-up Plazes. Nokia has spent the last year pushing into the Internet services realm, and launched Ovi, its branded mobile content and services system, last year. This acquisition will add to Nokia's swelling portfolio of mobile Internet products. Plazes provides location-aware technology that helps in recording and coordinating social networking activities. Nokia did not disclose the amount it paid for Plazes.
