Company Develops Fingerprint-Scanning LCD

AU Optronics Corporation of Taiwan recently showed off new display technology that incorporates a fingerprint scanner. By using a optical sensors and a detection circuit, the LCD can be used to scan and register a fingerprint. This new scanning method could replace separate fingerprint swipe technology and allow the phone to use the existing LCD to serve as a locking/unlocking mechanism.
