Intel Looking At New Ways to Harness Electricity in Mobile Devices
Dec 8, 2008, 9:07 PM by Eric M. Zeman
Intel recently announced that it is working on ways to grab energy from the environment in order to reduce mobile electronics' reliance on rechargeable batteries for power. The sensors that Intel is working on could capture solar power or convert body movement or heat into electricity. Intel is taking things one step at a time and is currently working on making sensors that can power themselves — so they aren't drawing battery power at all to function. The next step would be for the sensors to generate power for themselves and devices, though Intel said that these capabilities aren't yet possible.

How's about we just get enough of a NORMAL battery to make my G1 worth the effort?
(I'm not mad at the idea of these, but this year's been so boring as a whole that it almost seems like everyone's grasping at straws to be innovative)
