According to an unnamed Samsung executive being quoted in a Korean publication, Samsung is "accelerating the development process for [a] Google phone in order to meet the specific need of local carriers. [Samsung] will be able to release [a] Google phone in the second quarter of the next year in the U.S. market." Samsung Telecommunications America would not confirm the quote's accuracy, but did admit that Samsung is a member of the Open Handset Alliance, and is currently working on products based on the Android platform.
