Skype Launches Android and Java Clients
Jan 9, 2009, 10:51 AM by Eric M. Zeman
Today Skype announced new 'Lite' clients that will allow Android-based phones and Java-based phones to make Skype calls. Users will be able to make Skype-to-Skype calls worldwide, send/receive instant messages, make cheap Skype calls to landlines or mobile phones, receive calls to your online Skype phone number, and see when your Skype contacts are online/available to chat. Skype uses a mobile phone's data connection, so an unlimited plan is recommended for heavy users. The lite version of Skype is available globally.
