Microsoft Introduces the Application Market Place

Microsoft announced its own version of a mobile application store called the Application Market Place. The Market Place will be available directly from the menu system of Windows Mobile 6.5 phones. Users will be able to find and download applications directly to their handsets. The Market Place will also be available online via a web browser, allowing users to download applications to their PCs before installing them on their phones. According to Microsoft, Windows Mobile 6.5 will support a wide library of applications when the Market Place launches along with the new platform in the forth quarter of 2009.
