SanDisk to Allow Network Operators MicroSD Card Customization

Today SanDisk announced a new initiative that is aimed at allowing mobile network operators to deliver and control content via microSD cards. The SanDisk Service Delivery Card (SDC) will allow carriers to offer custom branded service discovery experience while also giving them a physical delivery mechanism to get operator-branded services onto a multitude of different handsets. It will also give operators a network-aware memory solution binds data to the network that can be used to launch and install applications on the handset. The solution will be able to supports cards ranging from 1GB to 16GB.
