RIM has updated its BlackBerry Internet Services to version 2.6. The largest changes will be seen by Gmail users, who will no longer receive sent messages in their inbox, and can perform one-way sync of read/unread counts between their BlackBerry and their Gmail account. Other improvements include the ability to show password characters when logging in, and a new WAP site that allows for customization of email accounts. In order for Gmail users to get the new features, they must delete the existing Gmail account from their BlackBerry and then add it back. The is no cost associated with the BIS update.
