Opera Browsers to Get Geolocation Powers
Mar 26, 2009, 8:46 AM by Eric M. Zeman
Today Opera Software and Skyhook Wireless announced a new partnership to bring location information to web browsers. Using Skyhook's Wi-Fi positioning system and the W3C Geolocation API, web site developers will be able to make their web sites location aware. This means end users — whether browsing from a desktop or mobile device — will be able to access relevant local content on those sites. End users will have to opt-in to allow Opera to see its location and submit it to the Internet.
