Opera Software has announced Opera Mobile 9.7. This latest version of the mobile browser brings with it several new features, including Opera Turbo; support for Flash Lite; a widget manager that will run independently from the browser; the Presto 2.2 rendering engine; support for Google Gears; and a cleaned up user interface. The Turbo feature, which speeds up browsing, can be turned on and off. Opera said it expects a beta version of 9.7 for consumers will be available to the Windows Mobile platform in late April or early May. Opera also indicated that it is looking to win handset and carrier distribution deals with this latest version of its browser.
