Nokia's Photo Browser Has Zoom and Face Detection

New beta software for S60 5th Edition touch phones has become available via Nokia's BetaLabs. The new Photo Viewer offers users a new way to interact with their images, including swiping through an image library with your finger, zooming in by pressing and holding on an image, and changing the orientation of the image by flipping the phone. The software also allows users to browse through faces within images. For example, if an image has multiple faces in it, users can zoom in and pan from face to face. The software is a free download and will work on the 5800 XpressMusic and forthcoming N97. Nokia says that it will support S60 3rd Edition at some point in the future.
