MobiTV Cooks Up New DTV Mobile TV Service
Apr 20, 2009, 10:01 AM by Eric M. Zeman
Today MobiTV and partners announced a new service called mixTV. mixTV does what the name implies, and incorporates both free over-the-air DTV broadcasts with on-demand content. In demonstrations, MobiTV is showing how it will work with content from PBS and the CW networks, paired with a seven-day window for all the content from those broadcasters on-demand via mobile WiMax. MobiTV hopes this new offering will generate interest from wireless network operators and television broadcasters alike, which have heretofore taken separate paths to deliver mobile TV to handsets.
