Today ZTE announced a new initiative aimed at bringing the capabilities of 3G wireless to a wide range of consumer electronics in what it calls a "3G lifestyle." ZTE is set to embed 3G in devices such as netbooks, monitors, digital photo frames, wireless phones, home gateways, modules, wireless walkie-talkies and typical mobile phones and data cards. ZTE says it can bring 3G to these devices via CDMA, WCDMA and TD-SCDMA networking technologies. In addition to the initiative, ZTE is also launching some of the devices starting today, though it didn't provide and specific details. ZTE also didn't say if any of the new products were headed to the U.S. market. ZTE does offer several mobile phones through pre-paid carriers in the U.S.
