Cricket Launches Phone Recycling Program
Apr 22, 2009, 7:46 AM by Eric M. Zeman
Today Leap Wireless's Cricket service announced a new program to help recycle more mobile phones. Customers can drop off their old phones at Cricket stores or print a postage-paid shipping label and send their phones directly to the recycling center. The company will donate some proceeds to Rebuilding Together, a program that helps low-income families find affordable housing. ReCellular is providing the recycling services. ReCellular will refurbish those phones that it can, re-package them, and offer them for sale in developing nations. Phones that cannot be refurbished are recycled.
