Apr 22, 2009, 10:22 AM by Eric M. Zeman
Today, Broadcom announced that it achieved Bluetooth Qualification Board qualification for a new combo chip that includes Bluetooth 3.0+HS, Wi-Fi and an FM radio. The chip, called BCM4325, also has support for the Enhanced Power Control feature of Bluetooth 3.0+HS to reduce power consumption. Broadcom didn't specify when the chip would sample or be available in bulk to device manufacturers. The Bluetooth SIG said it doesn't expect to see Bluetooth 3.0+HS in end-user devices before the end of 2009.
