Samsung Announces Its First Android Phone

Today Samsung announced the i7500, its first phone running Google's Android platform. The i7500 will have a 3.2-inch AMOLED touch screen, 5 megapixel camera with autofocus and LED flash, and 8GB of built-in memory. It also has a microSD memory card slot for additional storage (up to 32GB). The i7500 is quad-band GSM/EDGE, tri-band 900/1700/2100MHz HSDPA 7.2Mbps / HSUPA 5.76Mbps 3G and Wi-Fi. Notably, the i7500 will support T-Mobile USA's 3G network. It will be available via European network operators starting in June. Pricing was not disclosed.
