Garmin Delays Nuvifone G60 Until 2nd Half of 2009

Garmin-Asus have confirmed that the companies once again delayed its G60 Nuvifone. First announced in January 2008, the device has been delayed several times, most recently until the first half of 2009. The new target is some time before the end of 2009.

They need to fire the guy who devised this epic fail.
1. This iPhone knockoff was introduced almost 18 months ago. It won't see the light of day until the iPhone 3G's successor is available.
2. Garmin doesn't have the brand loyalty they think they have.
3. There's simply no market for this the way they're pitching it. The iPhone 3G and most Blackberries already have powerful built-in GPS functions. I ditched my handheld GPS after finding the iPhone 3G's met my needs.
4. They have zero experience building phone hardware or complex UI design. They also don't exactly have Apple's reputation for thinking through their products... just saying.
There's a lot of folks out there who use GPS devices for navigation, but have very little technical savvy otherwise. Not to generalize, but theres a lot of women who fit into this categ...

By the time it comes out (like a Neonode) it wont be worth anything nor will it be cutting edge.
