Toshiba Kills Cell Phone Business in Japan

Toshiba recently revealed that it is going to cease producing cell phones in Japan. The company will halt all manufacturing in its home country and outsource production to China, instead. The company said workers will be transitioned to other jobs within the company. Toshiba makes other consumer electronics, such as TVs and DVD players. Toshiba cited a large drop in sales as the reason behind its decision.
