Intel and Nokia Ink Strategic Partnership

Today Nokia and Intel announced a new partnership that is meant to speed the development of connected mobile devices. The companies say they will create devices that are based on standard Moblin and Maemo open-source mobile Linux. They also say the devices will have "user-friendly pocketable form factors" that have powerful processing capabilities and will always be connected to a wireless network. The companies didn't specifically define if the devices will be phones or other mobile computing devices. The two companies will also work together on the development of the Moblin and Maemo Linux platforms. In addition, Intel has licensed some of Nokia's HSPA/3G modem technologies, which it can use in its chipsets.
