Today HTC and Adobe announced that the Hero smartphone will be the first Android phone to ship with Flash on board. The two companies have added Flash 10, as well as support for Sorenson and On2 VP6 codecs, to the platform, which will give the Hero the ability to stream embedded video content and embedded audio content from the web. The Hero will ship in North America later this year. HTC and Adobe have not said if or when Flash will become available to other Android-based handsets.
