T-Mobile Confirms No Hero in the U.S.

Speaking at an event today in New York City, T-Mobile USA's CTO Cole Brodman said that the company "has no plans to bring the HTC Hero to market" in the U.S. Instead, T-Mobile is offering the Google-branded HTC myTouch 3G.

even if they have plans to bring the hero to the usa, why would they announce it at the launch of the magic? that's kicking themselves in the foot!
as a business, if they did consider bringing the hero to the usa, they would first sell as much as they can of the magic and then as it dies down a bit in sales, then announce the hero to respark interest

Why would they wan't to pick up a Cool phone
Typical t-mobile behavior. Why not just add another motorola razr /clone and call it a day. Also, when the 3G frequencies were being handed out, why choose to invest in a new frequency that no body in the world uses ( a simultaneous combo of 1700/2100). Why they didnt say stick with one 3g band like 1700 or just 2100 or 2600 whatever is beyond me. To add insult to injury, they are 3 yrs behind every with their 3g network and they are confused why they are not on top ?? I don't dislike t-mobile, but they seem to want to fail .

They said it won't be available for T-Mobile, I don't know for sure about other carriers or through the non carrier market....
