Nokia Sells Symbian Support Unit

Today Nokia announced that it is selling its Symbian Professional Services unit to Accenture for an undisclosed sum. The Symbian Professional Services unit was responsible for engineering and customer support for Symbian OS, and worked closely with phone makers, chip makers and network operators to maximize performance. The sale will include the transfer of 165 employees from Nokia to Accenture. The companies expect the deal to close by the end of the third quarter.
