Hot on the heels of MetroPCS yesterday, Cricket has launched the Messager II. It sells for $199.99.

Why?
These 2 companies are completely different. Their management and the way they handle their direct dealers is amazingly different.
When you compare Phillies Metro/cricket network
with south jersey included, its night and day. Cricket builds a better network, has 3G broadband cards in "All" their markets. Here in Philly metro is going to have $149 messager II and cricket is going to have a $199 messager + a $15 dollar activation fee.
Guess what? Metropcs does not have a 3g network in philly (Not all markets are the same) so the EVDO functionality? Non existant for metro in this market. Sad, Cricket will sell more of these handsets at a price...
