Microsoft Pins October 6 as Windows Mobile 6.5 Launch Date

Today Microsoft announced that Windows Phones running system 6.5 will be available from a number of different carriers and manufacturers starting on October 6. Microsoft said that in the North American market, Windows Mobile 6.5 devices can be expected from mobile operators AT&T, Sprint, and Verizon Wireless, and phone manufacturers HP, HTC, LG, Samsung and Toshiba. Other services primed to launch at that time include Windows Marketplace for Mobile and Microsoft My Phone. Microsoft said more details will become available directly from its partners about specific device launches in the coming weeks.
