Sony Ericsson Announces Xperia X2 with WinMo 6.5

Today Sony Ericsson announced the Xperia X2, a new smartphone that will run Microsoft's Windows Mobile 6.5 operating system as well as use the panels user interface developed by Sony Ericsson. The X2 will have 14 panels pre-installed, and users can choose to download from a selection of 16 more and customize the look and feel of their X2's home screen. The X2 has a sliding 3.2-inch touch display that reveals a full QWERTY keyboard for messaging. It features an 8.1 megapixel camera with autofocus, image stabilizer, geo-tagging and flash. Other key specs include a media player and stereo speakers, Google search integration, Youtube and Java support, and a microSD slot for expandable storage up to 16GB. The X2 has quad-band GSM/EDGE radios and one variant will support 850/1900/2100MHz HSPA 3G. Other radios include stereo Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and GPS. It will be available in select markets during the fourth quarter, pricing wasn't announced.
