Both Vonage and Google Voice recently added new support for message transcription and SMS.
- Vonage: The new Vonage Visual Voicemail features a voicemail-to-text transcription service that converts Vonage customers' voicemails into text messages or emails that are sent directly to the end users' PC or mobile phone. Messages can be stored, searched, saved, deleted or forwarded.
- Google Voice: Google recently added the ability to have SMS messages that are sent to a Google Voice number automatically forwarded to an email address. End users can read and reply to an SMS message directly from their email inbox. Incoming SMS messages are also threaded, which keeps users' inboxes cleaner.
