Today AT&T said that it has licensed speech-recognition technology from Vlingo. AT&T will incorporate its own Watson speech technology into Vlingo's speech-enabled applications. This will give AT&T customers the ability to control their devices with their voices and perform actions such as create text messages and emails and search the web. As part of the deal, AT&T is taking a small stake in Vlingo. AT&T said that products using the Watson engine will be available in the fourth quarter of this year
