Today AT&T announced that it is bringing Opera's Mini mobile browser to its feature phones. According to AT&T, Opera Mini will improve page rendering and speed up page delivery. AT&T has customized Opera Mini a bit and is offering users some personalization tools, such as the options to post shortcut buttons to their home page; location-aware search and information tools; and feeds of the most popular mobile Web content (headlines, sports scores, etc.). AT&T spokesperson Seth Bloom said, "We've created a hybrid mobile Web experience — making mobile browsing more recognizable and similar to that of a PC, but also taking advantage of capabilities unique to a mobile phone and keeping what have been the mainstays of the mobile Web easy to find." Opera Mini will first be available on four new messaging phones that AT&T announced today. AT&T didn't say if or when Opera Mini would become available on its other feature phones.
