AT&T Must Divest More Markets to Acquire Centennial

The U.S Department of Justice has given its approval to AT&T's planned acquisition of Centennial Communications — if AT&T agrees to divest eight markets in Louisiana and Mississippi. AT&T has already agreed to divest five of the named markets to Verizon Wireless. The deal still needs to be approved by the Federal Communications Commission. AT&T first announced its intent to acquire Centennial in November 2008.
