Apple Rolls Out In App Purchases for Free Apps
Oct 16, 2009, 7:42 AM by Eric M. Zeman
Apple recently made it possible for developers of free applications being distributed in the iPhone Apps Store to offer in app purchases. This will let developers sell free, trial or basic versions of their applications and then give users the choice to upgrade or unlock new functionality by paying for them. This will negate the need for the "Lite" versions of apps that are available in the apps store, and should protect developers from some privacy concerns.
