GSMA Pushes to Reduce Wireless Industry Emissions by 40%
Nov 18, 2009, 8:58 AM by Eric M. Zeman
The GSM Association recently published a document called the Green Manifesto for the mobile industry. The manifesto outlines how collaborative efforts made by the entire wireless industry and some government regulation can help to reduce greenhouse gas emissions 40% by the year 2020. The GSMA hopes to achieve carbon neutral growth, and thinks that both handsets and networking equipment can reduce energy requirements. The GSMA will be sending delegates to the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen in December to push for these changes.
