Today Nokia announced the newest version of its mobile application and user interface framework, Qt 4.6. Qt 4.6 offers developers a large number of improvements, including support for multi-touch applications and input methods such as flicking and kinetic scrolling. The new version of Qt also brings support for a number of new platforms, including Symbian, Apple OS 10.6 Snow Leopard, Windows 7, and Maemo 6. Nokia is working on support for Maemo 5. Other new features include improved performance and better graphics, a new animation framework, and a preview of new Qt APIs from the Qt Mobility project. Qt 4.6 should make developing applications easier and faster.
