Nokia Says User Experience Improvements Coming

Today Nokia held its Capital Market Days, a chance for investors to get a glimpse of what's in store for the next 12 months for Nokia. Nokia made several key statements regarding its device plans. It said that it plans to improve the basic Nokia user experience; re-engineer its Symbian user interface; significantly increase the proportion of touch and/or QWERTY devices in its smartphone portfolio; and deliver its first Maemo 6-powered mobile device in the second half of 2010. Nokia also pledged to make it easier for developers to create applications for Nokia devices and its Ovi Store and Services. Nokia CEO, Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo, said in a prepared statement, "In 2010, we will drive user experience improvements, and the progress we make will take the Symbian user interface to a new level. As an operating system, Symbian has reach and flexibility like no other platform."
