Motorola Invests In Multi-Touch Tech Corp.

Today Motorola announced that Motorola Ventures, its capital investment arm, has invested in a France-based developer of multi-touch and user interface company called Sensitive Object. Sensitive Object has patented technology that allows it to make any type of surface touch sensitive. It does this be using acoustics and sound waves to pinpoint where a finger might touch an object. Sensitive Object's ReverSys software can create touch-based user interfaces on a wide range of devices, including mobile phones. The company also has its own Anywhere MultiTouch platform that can create 3D device tactilization. The company believes that its technology has a performance and cost benefit when compared to resistive, capacitive and optical touch technologies. Motorola didn't say how much it invested in Sensitive Object.
