Samsung Settles with Kodak Over Camera Patents
Dec 23, 2009, 9:40 AM by Eric M. Zeman
Samsung and Eastman Kodak have agreed to settle litigation between the two companies over camera patents. Kodak claimed that Samsung violated two of its patents related to how images are captured, previewed, compressed and stored. The U.S. International Trade Commission sided with Kodak and ruled that Samsung had indeed infringed on the patents. Samsung has agreed to pay Kodak an undisclosed sum in past royalty fees and the two will work out a cross-licensing agreement moving forward.
