Today the Wall Street Journal confirmed that Apple is prepared to purchase Quattro Wireless for $275 million. Quattro is a start-up that provides an advertising platform and service for mobile devices, such as Apple's iPhone. Quattro's products could be integrated into Apple's iPhone Apps Store and provide a way for both Apple and application developers to generate revenue from in-app ads. Google recently made a similar buy when it picked up AdMob for $750 million.
