Jan 8, 2010, 12:01 PM by Eric M. Zeman
NTT DoCoMo announced that it has developed a prototype multi-band power amplifier that has eight frequency bands between 700MHz and 2.5GHz. This amplifier will allow manufacturers to make phones that can contain different cellular radios, such as LTE, GSM and UMTS. Power amplifiers are what boosts cell phone's transmitting capabilities, allowing them to connect to cell towers. The new amplifier from DoCoMo is small enough that it can be used in mobile phones without increasing their size.
