Nanosys and LG Innotek recently announced an agreement to jointly develop new displays for mobile phones. LG Innotek, which is LG's display manufacturing unit, has agreed to use Nanosys' quantum dot phosphors for use in displays. The major improvements offered by this display technology is a dramatic increase in the number of colors supported on a display, as well as a reduction in power needs. Nanosys and LG Innotek didn't say when this technology would be implemented into LG or other handsets.
