Google Puts Click-to-Call Feature in Mobile Ads
Jan 28, 2010, 4:24 PM by Eric M. Zeman
Today Google announced a new feature for smartphones that will allow them to automatically place a call from a mobile ad served to their mobile browser. When conducting Google searches, Google will return local business results, complete with the phone number of the nearest branch and/or location. Users of the iPhone, Android, and other smarthphones will be able to click on the phone number to place a call to that business. The idea is to help end users contact businesses via phone faster.
