Today Google announced a new version of Google Maps for Mobile the Android platform. The software, which will be available to users from the Android Market, includes several new features. Users can now sync starred places and saved searches between their desktop and mobile Maps apps. Users will also be able to search through their desktop-based map browsing from their phones (as long as they are signed into their Google accounts). Last, the software includes a new "night mode" that makes Maps easier to see when using it in the dark in a car.
