Fandango Offers Cell Phone Movie Tickets
Mar 15, 2010, 8:46 AM by Philip Berne
Movie ticket Web site Fandango today started selling movie tickets that can be scanned directly from a mobile phone screen. Similar to the 2-D barcodes that some airlines are now offering, Fandango's new tickets can be scanned at the ticket booth at select theaters. Currently the program is only offered in a limited number of theaters, including a few venues in the Reading Cinemas circuit and the Angelika independent theater chain, including theaters in New York City, Dallas, Houston, San Diego and Hawaii. Mobile tickets cost the same as paper tickets.
