Sprint Android Phones Will Get 2.1 Upgrade This Spring

Sprint representatives have confirmed to PhoneScoop that the carrier's current crop of Android smartphones, the Samsung Moment and HTC Hero, will be updated directly from Android 1.5 to Android 2.1. As Sprint Communications Manager Caroline Semerdjian told us, Sprint expects to upgrade in early 2nd quarter of 2010.

But what about the...

G1, MyTouch, Cliq and Eris??? Waaaa waaa waaaa. I could hear the crybabies now. They got a point though. That's what I hate about the Android platform. At least with an iPhone you're not left in the dark when a new version of the OS rolls out.
I think Android still has an advantage..... CHOICE! You aren't stuck with "all touch or alltouch?"

If I'm not mistaken I thought that the line up of phones that will not get this upgrade was because most of the things this upgrade will have, they already have?

So the upgrades that 2.0 have the 1.8 or what ever probably already have, Idk, I'm all...

Steel Cage Death Match

Tickle me Android

Honestly, this operating system will have it's run, people will flock to it as the greatest thing since, well, blackberry. But it is already starting to fall apart.

Google has completely lost control of it's operating system. I guess that was the point of it from the beginning, but it almost seems like it is going to turn into another passing fad.

I honestly predict that Windows Phone 7-Series and iPhone are going to be damn near even with thier market control come 2 years from now. Apple will continue to grow and Microsoft will completely take off.

The reason I believe this?

because the two companies are quickly starting to understand that people run to quality over "choice" at nearly any expense.

It's too bad this has nothing to do with reality... Android's market share is growing exponentially.

And if they can figure out an easier way to help developers with cross version app development, their fragmentation will be a benefit. All 2.1 gi...
