AT&T's U-Verse Mobile Sends Videos from Home to Phone

At the CTIA Wireless 2010 show in Las Vegas, AT&T today demonstrated the upcoming U-Verse Mobile service. Shown running in an app on the Apple iPhone, AT&T's new U-Verse app lets customers watch content from their U-Verse DVR home setup on their mobile device. Customers can also browse television schedules and set recordings for their home DVR, and these videos can then be streamed to either a mobile phone or a connected laptop. The carrier has long allowed customers the ability to program a DVR remotely, but now AT&T is also showcasing the streaming capabilities of the U-Verse Mobile service. Pricing and specific avalability for the new U-Verse Mobile apps have yet to be announced, but AT&T made clear that the app will not be exclusive to the iPhone. The service should come to market later this year.
