Seesmic Updates Android App with new Widget

Seesmic today announced on the company blog that the Android version of the Seesmic app will receive an update with a trio of new features. Foremost among these is the new Seesmic widget. Google has a widget for its Buzz service, and this new feature lets users read and tweet without opening the full Seesmic app. In addition, the Android app now supports Twitter's newer native retweet feature, in addition to the older, quoting method. Seesmic can also geotag tweets for Twitter's new location service. These improvements bring the app more in line with the full Twitter feature set, even as Twitter itself has gotten into the first party application game.
